George Herbert Day Jr. (March 21, 1922 - February 21, 1945) was a United States Army soldier and a casualty of World War II.
Day was born on March 21, 1922 in Hartford, Connecticut, as the son of George Herbert Day, Jr. and Grace Phelps Allen. He graduated from Kingswood School in West Hartford and attended Yale University, leaving during his junior year in November 1942 to enter the United States Army. After training at Camp Hale in Colorado, he participated in the landing on Kiska, Alaska in 1943. He was sent back to the United States in the summer of 1944 for further training at Camp Carson in Colorado, and Camp Swift. In January 1945, Day went to Italy with the 87th Mounted Infantry of the Fifth Army.
On February 21, 1945, Day was killed in action in Italy.
Day married Georgia Herbert on November 19, 1944 in Colorado. The couple had no children.
