Hugh Lepper Hunter (1923 - December 25, 1981) was a West Hartford, Connecticut advertising sales representative for The Courant for 18 years and the husband of Jane Deming. He was a member of the First Church of Christ Congregational in West Hartford.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1923, he was the son of James Monroe Hunter and Emma Lepper. He grew up with his parents at 149 Englewood Avenue in Hartford. On June 11, 1942, he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, on January 25, 1947, he married Jane Deming, who had worked at Pratt & Whitney to service the war effort, at First Congregational Church in West Hartford. The reception was held at Wolcott Memorial Chapel. The couple moved into a new home at 55 Briarwood Road in West Hartford to raise a family. They had a son in June 1949. In the early 1950's, they had two more children, listed below.

In 1963, Hunter began working as an advertising sales representative for The Courant, a position he held for 18 years.

On December 25, 1981, however, he died at John Dempsey Hospital at the age of 58, leaving his wife and three children. He was buried in Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford, Connecticut.
